Are you looking for an industry leading company that offers growth and stability? Labcorp is seeking a Flow Cystometry Laboratory Team Leader to join our team in Raleigh/Durham, NC. Assist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the Flow Cytometry department
Send daily, weekly and monthly productions reports to management
Assist with the training of new hires and the development of current employees
Keep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
Assist with processing of specimens when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Bachelors Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or other related science.
5+ years of experience in Flow Cytometry or a related clinical lab.
Previous leadership experience is a plus!
Knowledge and expertise in both wet lab and data analysis.
Knowledge in the following areas of the flow cytometry: understanding the theory and applications of clinical flow cytometry; knowledge of supplies, specimen handling, selection of antibody panels, reagent quality control and safety.
Expertise in the data analysis is required along with knowledge in the wet lab and instrument troubleshooting. The Lead should be able to recognize normal populations from abnormal, aberrant, or unexpected populations and perform more advanced level of result interpretations, specimen problem solving and more advanced level of add-on judgements.
Participates on committees, special projects, and/or unique tasks
Enriches Laboratory workflows and services through observed, traceable improvements to laboratory metrics and processes, including repeat rates when applicable.
