Cytogenetic Technologist Trainee
FISH technologists independently perform laboratory tasks designed to diagnose chromosomal abnormalities from patient specimens which includes:
* Performing harvesting of cells
* Probing of slides from reproductive and oncology specimen types
* Perform analysis of fluorescent slides, which includes imaging
* Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis as needed
* Summarizes test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
* Provide significant support activities such as assisting with the evaluation of new protocol or tests, maintaining clinical and internal documentation files, and other duties as assigned.
