Requisition Number: 19-82819 Shift: 1 Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday (8:00am - 4:30pm) and Mondays when needed

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform routine procedures in hematology with accuracy and reliability
  • Read manual differentials on peripheral blood smears with a microscope
  • Utilize an automated digital cell morphology platforms to confirm automated analyzer results
  • Identify red blood cell, white blood cell and platelet populations
  • Identify and report any indication of Blood borne Pathogens in a timely manner
  • Detect and identify abnormal cell populations to aid in the diagnosis of health conditions and disease states
  • Interpret blood cell count result data for accuracy and feasibility
  • Troubleshoot analyzers and equipment to determine a resolution
  • Run and perform maintenance on the automated slide maker/strainer


  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a Life Science
  • Prior experience in Hematology/Morphology is preferred
  • Experience working in a clinical hematology laboratory performing manual differentials is a plus
  • Prior experience with Sysmex platforms and/or CellaVision® is a plus
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • ASCP Certification is a plus
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize, multi task and work independently
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.




Tuesday - Saturday (8:00am - 4:30pm) and Mondays when needed
