Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CA CLS License Required)
National Genetics Institute (NGI), a wholly owned subsidiary of LabCorp, is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to join its team in Los Angeles, CA! NGI provides the global plasma industry with comprehensive donor qualification and source plasma donation screening services including advanced genetic testing and viral marker testing (VMT). For over 25 years, NGI has provided the global plasma industry with source plasma donation screening services for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis A, B, and C viruses (HAV, HBV, and HCV), parvovirus B19, West Nile virus and other infectious agents to ensure the safety of the plasma supply chain.
This position will work in the post PCR lab. The CLS is responsible for performing moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on clinical samples.
The schedule for this position will be: Monday -- Friday, 7:30am -- 4:30pm
Responsibilities:
Accurately and timely perform assigned technical assays including appropriate documentation following NGI's approved procedures
Analyze and report test results to the appropriate department or client as assigned
Review and evaluate quality control data. Take appropriate action to maintain accuracy of the assay
Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or test results and notify the manager or supervisor
Maintain equipment and work area as required and assigned
Respond to inquiries regarding test results as required
Participate in the instruction, training, and guidance of technical staff and support personnel
Participate in set-up and evaluation of analytical procedures and techniques, including method comparisons and validations
Requirements
CA CLS Generalist license required
Bachelor Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to take accurate readings from equipment
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
