Forensic DNA Analyst

Conducts and/or directs the analysis of forensic samples, interprets data, reaches conclusions, issues reports, testifies in legal proceedings.
Minimum of BS or equivalent work experienced required with preference for an advanced degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Forensic Science. Specific course work in Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Biochemistry (classes may have other titles) with a minimum of nine cumulative semester hours of equivalent that cover the required subject areas. Course work and/or training in statistics and/or population genetics as it applies to forensic DNA analysis. The analyst shall have six (6) months of forensic human DNA laboratory experience and those working in DNA Databasing three (3) of the 6 months must be in DNA Databasing.
