Leverage technology skills to develop business solutions within the healthcare industry. Create and implement enterprise standards for a web service platform (RESTful APIs). Provide a modern framework for Java/Linux-based solutions across IBM z-Series, virtualized machines, and hybrid cloud platforms (IaaS). Enable new business workflows for the company as well as help to build out a new IT infrastructure. Web applications and web service development, platform development, automation, and coaching/mentoring of teams adopting the platforms. Deal with complex business integrations, elicit requirements, and implement secure and high-performance services consumed by various devices and applications across the organization. Drive the evolution of solutions and ensure internal and external clients' software requirements are met. Develop complex RESTful webservices in a cross-functional and agile development team. Contribute to the SOA standards for the company. Follow best practices for test-driven development (unit testing and beyond). Design functional/system integration tests and automation. Collaborate with Business Analyst on product requirements analysis. Perform code and design reviews with peers. Conduct complex impact analysis. Contribute complex application architecture. Contribute complex technical alternatives. Occasional travel to corporate offices in Burlington, NC for meetings.


Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering or Computer Science plus five (5) years of progressive experience as a Developer. The position requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Healthcare Industry; Java enterprise development using Java 1.4 -- Java 8.x; JEE compliant application servers using WebSphere and Liberty; Spring; Hibernate; REST; JMS; Web service technologies - JAX-RS, JSON, JAXB, JAX-WS, and WSDL; Highly efficient RDBMS SQL (e.g. DB2, Oracle); Agile/SCRUM methodologies; Coach and mentor junior developers and teams adopting the platforms; Test-driven development and continuous integration. Position requires two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Java enterprise development using Java 9; Spring Boot; Reactive Programming with Spring-Integration; Drools; Docker EE; Kubernetes; Netflix Archaius; Netflix Hystrix; The position requires one (1) year of experience in each of the following: Apache Camel; Angular.




40 hrs/wk, Monday -- Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
