LabCorp is seeking a Lab Supervisor to join our Molecular Microbiology lab team in Burlington, NC. 

The Molecular Microbiology department at the Center for Esoteric Testing offers testing for infectious diseases using molecular methods. Assays performed in the Molecular Microbiology area include Qualitative and Quantitative PCR, with the overall goal of providing results that can be used for the diagnosis and management of a wide range of infections using real-time PCR detection of nucleic acid. This person will be the Technical Supervisor for the NuSwab testing area. 

Although this position will have second shift hours from Tuesday-Saturday 4:00PM-12:30AM, flexibility in schedule will be necessary to meet needs on other shifts.


  • Supervision of up to 18 technical personnel for three shifts.
  • Overseeing day to day workflow and operations for TECAN specimen alliquoting and operation of the Roche c8000 instruments
  • Managing specimen workflow, testing, and resulting
  • Handling instrument maintenance
  • Conducting inventory
  • Managing pendings and audits
  • Writing technical documents (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Troubleshooting and performing root/cause analysis resolutions on failed tests.
  • Other duties as assigned by management


  • Requirements:

    • Must have a BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science as required by CLIA.
    • 7 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required
    • Previous leadership experience desired
    • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
    • Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.
    • Excellent in time management and organization.
    • Color blindness testing required upon hire
