IT Infrastructure, Project Manager

We are currently in search of an IT Infrastructure, Project Manager for our Burlington, North Carolina location.

As an IT Infrastructure project manager, you should have experience building or upgrading environments from some of the following Infrastructure technologies:

  • Server/Cloud
  • Storage
  • Networking
  • IT Security
  • Data Center

The IT Infrastructure, Project manager will manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of assigned projects, but not limited to the following:

* IT Project management experience focused on managing and implementing IT infrastructure projects in a CRO/pharmaceutical environment (ie. drug safety, document management, clinical trial management, study selection/scheduling) preferred

* Consistently deliver high quality projects, on time, on budget, with agreed upon functionality
* Creates and manages a detailed project plan
* Ensures proper project execution of workflows, critical paths, and milestones
* Manages project scope and change control processes
* Actively manages the project's budget by creating monthly forecasts and analyzing and explaining variances
* Has financial accountability and ownership of all aspects of project financials including estimation, accruals, actuals, forecast, contingency and variances. This includes having an in-depth understand on each of these financial components and provide information on these at detail and executive levels. It also includes proactively managing the actuals (cost) on the project and taking corrective action as needed.
* Identifies resources needed, requests appropriate resources, and ensures appropriate staffing for the duration of the project to ensure efficient and successful project completion
* Records actual labor utilization on the project and creates resource utilization forecasts
* Effectively manages a diverse group of team members from the business, IT and external service providers
* Tracks project issues and ensures appropriate resolution
* Identifies, qualifies, and documents risks and puts in place appropriate mitigation strategies
* Reviews project deliverables to ensure high quality
* Reports project status to team, PMO, and management through regular status reports, management reports, and communication meetings
* Holds formal project reviews with management to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction
* Communicates effectively with all levels of staff and management
* Confronts issues openly and effectively
* Manages stakeholder expectations on scope, schedule, costs and quality
* Experience in setting and managing expectations and escalations to senior executives

* Experience with managing large scale or complex IT projects across multiple sites and business units


Desired Experience

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree/experience
* PMP Certification highly desired
* Minimum 10 years' experience in IT
* Minimum 4 years of IT project management experience
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
* Superior oral and written communication skills
