If so, LabCorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our team as a Technologist in our Molecular Pathology lab in Brentwood, TN. In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".

The work schedule for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00am - 5:30pm

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs all high-complexity testing in the Department of Molecular Pathology with minimal supervision.
  • Identifies problems in department laboratory and operating systems and institutes appropriate corrective actions.
  • Analyzes test data and quality control documents, and prepares draft reports for Molecular Pathologist Director/Supervisor to review.
  • Actively participates in the department quality programs and adheres to policies and procedures developed for the department.
  • Performs all molecular-based test procedures used in the department with minimum supervision.
  • Participates in proficiency tests.
  • Prepares reagents according to provisions of the Reagent Manual.
  • Operates and maintains equipment according to provisions of the Equipment Manual.
  • Reports any problems with test procedures directly to the supervisor of the department.
  • Participates in the validation of new test systems in the department.
  • Analyzes test data and prepares draft reports to present to the supervisor of the department.
  • Assists Molecular Technicians in daily lab operations.
  • Answers technical questions from clients or refers to supervisor.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the laboratory Quality system.
  • Reviews Standard Operating Procedures.


  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP certification preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
