Potential Career Path in Phlebotomy

  • Phlebotomist

    Phlebotomists are proficient in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections, paternity collections, breath/saliva alcohol testing, LCM/Cyber Tools, TestCup, pediatric blood collections, and difficult draws (patients in long-term care facilities, drug rehabilitation facilities, prisons, psychiatric facilities, or similar facilities).

  • Patient Services Team Lead

    PST with a minimum of three years’ experience as a patient service technician/phlebotomist and demonstrated skills in all facets of patient services. Must possess leadership abilities.

  • Patient Services Site Supervisor

    Responsible for supervision of 4+ Patient Service Center non-exempt staff in an assigned Patient Service Center. Supervises the activities of staff and the operations of their assigned Patient Service Center. Supervisory duties include hiring staff, disciplinary action, terminations, performance reviews, ordering supplies, etc. Position maintains an active working role as a phlebotomist in their assigned site.

  • Patient Services Supervisor

    Supervises the activities of 20-25 Patient Service Technicians and the operations of Patient Service Centers according to established policies and procedures

  • Patient Services Regional Manager

    Supervises the activities of 100 or more Patient Service Technicians and oversees the operations of 20 or more patient service centers within an assigned region. Interrelates with laboratory director, department managers, and branch managers to ensure the optimal operation of the patient services department. Ensures that all policies and procedures are updated and implemented in each region in compliance with state and federal regulations and company mandates. Provides orientation, training, and performance evaluation of all patient services supervisors.
