Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical, business, or financial discipline
3 - 5 years practical experience in a Business or Systems Analyst role
Experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required
Understanding of enterprise application development, from understanding underlying database design to developing for multi-tier Web applications
Ability to analyze complex administrative processes and computer systems, identify problems, develop logical conclusions, and implement effective solutions
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to reduce abstract ideas to easily understand procedures
Must be able to work independently in the absence of supervision
Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus, but not required
The IT Product Management and Analysis Team of Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) has an opportunity for a talented Project Analyst to join a motivated and productive team in delivering enterprise-level-web-based solutions. The ideal candidate should have successful experience defining software systems and supporting teams throughout the project lifecycle. Our team is dynamic and growing so there is opportunity to be involved in all areas of the system development life cycle and have exposure to full project lifecycle including development methods.
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Proactivley communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyse information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams, support teams, and business partners/vendors
Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver functional requirements, use cases, and user interface designs as necessary
Provide input into Test Plan creation and support test plan validation as required for QA
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
